Anna supporters seek Lalu Prasad’s support
August 22nd, 2011 - 10:40 pm ICT by IANSPatna, Aug 22 (IANS) Anna Hazare’s supporters in Bihar Monday demanded that Rashtriya Janata Dal chief and former railway minister Lalu Prasad support the social activist’s anti-corruption movement.
Ratnesh, an activist of Bihar unit of India Against Corruption, the citizen body fighting for a strong Lokpal, said: “We have demanded the support of Lalu Prasad. We want that Lalu Prasad should support Anna and his team to fight against corruption.”
A group of Hazare supporters visited the RJD office here to muster support.
However, the IAC activists were forced to return from the RJD party office when heated exchanges took place between them and the RJD members.
Hazare supporters in Chapra, parliamentary constituency of Lalu Prasad in Saran district, staged a protest against Lalu Prasad Sunday for not supporting the campaign. The slogan shouting protesters threatened the RJD chief to support Hazare or face their wrath in the next polls.
