Anna ill, skips campaign launch
May 13th, 2011 - 10:39 pm ICT by IANSPanaji, May 13 (IANS) Social activist Anna Hazare could not attend the launch of his nationwide campaign for the Jan Lokpal bill from Goa, because he fell ill due to the the severe summer weather, according to the organisers.
Former top cop and fellow activist Kiran Bedi said here Friday that the veteran Gandhian was unwell and hence could not make it to the launch of the nationwide anti- corruption campaign demanding a stringent anti-corruption law.
“Anna Hazareji was supposed to come for this function. But he took ill due to the hot weather. Therefore he could not make it,” said Bedi, who addressed the rally along with Swami Agnivesh and another bureaucrat-turned activist Arvind Kejriwal.
