Andhra governor, CM pay last respects to Sathya Sai Baba
April 24th, 2011 - 4:50 pm ICT by IANSPuttaparthi (Andhra Pradesh), April 24 (IANS) Andhra Pradesh Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan, Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and his cabinet colleagues Sunday paid their last respects to spiritual leader Sathya Sai Baba, who died after prolonged illness.
The governor and the chief minister, who air dashed to the pilgrim town after confirmation of Baba’s death, drove to Sathya Sai Super Speciality Hospital to pay their last respects.
In a picture released to the media, they were seen standing with folded hands besides the saffron-clad body.
State ministers J. Geeta Reddy, a devotee of Baba who has been monitoring his condition for last three weeks, and N. Raghuveera Reddy also paid their respects.
Former chief minister and Telugu Desam party president N. Chandrababu Naidu, Praja Rajyam Party chief K. Chiranjeevi and leaders of other parties are also rushing to the pilgrim town.
