Amritsar official’s car fined for jumping red light
November 27th, 2009 - 11:55 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Amritsar, Nov 27 (IANS) The official car of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Amritsar was issued a traffic ticket (challan) Friday after the driver jumped a red light, said the police.
Police sources said that DC K.S. Pannu was issued a ticket after his official car crossed a red light near Kachehri chowk here Friday.
“I was not present in my car when the driver flouted traffic rules. I got a call from someone, who informed me about this incident. So being a responsible citizen, I myself called the DTO (District Transport Officer) and told him to challan my driver,” said Pannu here Friday.
Amritsar is around 250 km from state capital Chandigarh.
