Al Pacino honoured by Actors Fund
May 27th, 2011 - 9:15 pm ICT by IANSLondon, May 27 (IANS) Acting legend Al Pacino has been honoured with the Lee Strasberg Artistic Achievement Award by The Actors Fund, an organisation that benefits members of the performing arts community.
“I’m honoured to receive the Lee Strasberg Artistic Achievement Award from The Actors Fund. From my decades of work in theatre and film, I know firsthand the importance of our community giving back to support those in need,” contactmusic.com quoted Pacino as saying.
“Actors, musicians, directors, crew members and so many others - they are all a part of our community. And when they need a helping hand, we know The Actors Fund will be there,” he added.
“Cheers and Frasier” star Bebe Neuwirth was also feted at the event, receiving The Actors Fund Medal of Honour.
