Air India plane suffers bird-hit, none hurt
June 16th, 2010 - 9:05 pm ICT by IANSIndore, June 16 (IANS) The passengers of a Mumbai-New Delhi Air India hopping flight had a close shave Wednesday when the plane suffered a bird-hit while landing at the airport here, an official said.
“The pilot managed to land the plane safely and all 146 people on board are safe. The flight was delayed for two hours and it took off for New Delhi via Bhopal only after the engineers found it airworthy,” Vivek Upadhyaya, director of the Devi Ahilyabai Airport, told reporters.
The IC-133 flight had taken off from Mumbai for Delhi with stop-overs at Indore and Bhopal.
The same IC-133 flight was detected with two tyres deflated on landing at the New Delhi airport Tuesday. Though the incident created a scare, none of the 106 people onboard were hurt.
