Thiruvananthapuram, April 30 (IANS) As many as 12 Air India flights from Kerala’s three airports were cancelled Saturday due to the strike by a section of its pilots while all the Air India Express flights were on schedule.

An Air India official told IANS Saturday that an additional Kozhikode-Dubai-Kozhikode flight was provided.

“So far our international operations have not been affected. The additional flight to Dubai, a 186-seater aircraft, had 31 vacant seats, showing that there is no backlog of stranded passengers on the international sector,” said the official.

A passenger booked to travel from Chennai to Thiruvananthapuram Saturday evening told IANS that Air India offered a full refund if he did not want to take a diversion.

“They told me at the Chennai airport that I can take an Air India Express flight from Chennai to Trichy and from there they would arrange for travel till Madurai by road. From Madurai, I have to make my own arrangement to reach Thiruvananthapuram,” he said over phone from Chennai.
