Agriculture varsity to come up in Madhya PradeshAugust 19th, 2008 - 10:30 pm ICT by IANS
Bhopal, Aug 19 (IANS) An agriculture university will come up in Gwalior with the Madhya Pradesh cabinet Tuesday approving the ordinance for its establishment.The cabinet, at its meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, approved the ordinance for establishing Gwalior Agriculture University.
The cabinet would now recommend to the governor promulgation of the ordinance. The varsity would be named after Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia.
Provision of land and construction of the new agriculture university will cost approximately Rs.547 million.
Objectives of the university include arrangement of education in agriculture and related subjects, promotion of research work, and encouraging various works aimed at improving rural people’s living standard.
The university would carry out studies on agriculture, animal husbandry, agricultural engineering and technology, rural industry and trade and other related sciences.
