New Delhi, July 18 (IANS) An Indian origin Afghanistan national was arrested here Friday for allegedly murdering his 21-year-old sister-in-law after she rejected his sexual advances, the police said. Sleuths of the Crime Branch arrested Naresh Kumar Sehgal, 28, from his Rohini residence in northwest Delhi for killing Bina at her Tilak Nagar home in December last year.

The accused and his family had taken refuge in India in 1992. Sehgal runs a movie CD renting shop in Sultanpuri area. The police said Sehgal is one of four brothers. Bina was married to the youngest brother about a year ago.

Naresh is married for the past eight years and has one daughter.

“Ever since the marriage of his younger brother, Naresh developed a liking for Bina. On the fateful day, Naresh came to his brother’s house, knowing fully well that Bina would be alone at home. He tried to force himself on her,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police Neeraj Thakur.

“When she resisted, Naresh in a fit of rage smothered her to death with a pillow. On his way out he ransacked the house to make it look like a burglary. He took away jewellery, some cash and a mobile phone belonging to the deceased. He locked the door and threw away the key before leaving,” Thakur added.
