New Delhi, May 30 (IANS) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L.K. Advani Monday urged the Congress to reconsider its stand on freedom fighter and Hidutva ideologue Veer Savarkar.
In his latest blog, Advani said that no Congress MP except for Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar was present in parliament’s Central Hall to pay tributes to Savarkar’s portrait on his birth anniversary Saturday.
He said that since February 2003, when Savarkar’s portrait was put up in the Central Hall, the Congress has boycotted all functions related “to this portrait”.
“This is singularly unfortunate, and I would like to urge the Congress to reconsider its stand,” he said.
