Bhopal, June 21 (IANS) A man who along with his friends allegedly raped a woman from Mumbai at gunpoint in a moving car here has been arrested, the Madhya Pradesh police said Sunday.
The 25-year-old woman was raped by four men in a moving SUV on the outskirts of Bhopal Wednesday night while her husband was held at gunpoint in the same vehicle.

The victim and her husband, residents of central Mumbai, had come to the city to get their two children admitted to the Asaram Bapu Ashram School here. The couple waiting for a public transport took lift in the SUV, police said.

The accused left the couple on a dark road and fled. The couple lodged a first information report (FIR) Thursday morning and police found two bracelets from the spot where the couple was left.

“Police came to know of Sattu, whose name was found on one of the bracelet recovered. His photograph was sent to the victim in Mumbai and Sattu was arrested after the woman identified him as one of the culprits. The other three accused in the case are still at large,” said Superintendent of Police Jaideep Prasad.

The police had announced a Rs.5,000 reward for anyone providing information about the accused. The award money was later raised to Rs.15,000.
