Mumbai, March 30 (IANS) Kadir Ali Shaikh, an accused in a robbery case, committed suicide Sunday morning inside a police station lock-up in Navi Mumbai of Thane district, the police told IANS. The 34-year-old Shaikh hung himself to death inside the lock-up of the Kalamboli police station in Navi Mumbai, the police said.
Shaikh was arrested two days back after he was accused in a robbery case. The reason behind the suicide has not been ascertained.
Relatives of Shaikh have, however, alleged that he was falsely implicated in the robbery and was depressed and ashamed of that.
