Accident kills nine in West Bengal (Lead)
September 5th, 2010 - 4:10 pm ICT by IANSKolkata, Sep 5 (IANS) At least nine people were killed and six injured Sunday when a truck collided with a smaller vehicle in West Bengal’s Malda district. All the injured are in critical condition.
The victims were passengers in the smaller vehicle, known locally as trekker.
Seven people died instantly while two succumbed to their injuries in the hospital, a police officer told IANS. The accident took place on National Highway 34 in Kaluadighi area.
