New Delhi, March 26 (IANS) Four school girls who had gone missing Thursday evening from Delhi were Saturday found in Haridwar in Uttrakhand, police said. One person has been arrested.

“The girls were found today (Saturday) morning in Haridwar and we are waiting for the medical tests to be conducted on them to ascertain if any of them were abused,” a police official said.

One person, Saurav, 20, has been arrested for trying to influence the girls and kidnapping them. The girls — aged between 13 and 14 years — however told the police that they had gone with the man willingly, the official said.

Saurav worked as a driver in Trilokpuri near the area where the four girls lived.

“One of the parents told us about this boy was friendly with one of the girls. When we raided his house, he was not there. We found that he was somewhere in Haridwar,” the officer said.

The girls after giving their exam at a school Thursday did not return home and a case of abduction was lodged by their families.

All four are close friends and study in Class 8 at the Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya in Mayur Vihar in east Delhi.

During the search, parents found that the girls had visited Nilgiri restaurant in Pandav Nagar in east Delhi after their school to have food.
