Abducted Assam officials released
March 6th, 2012 - 11:06 am ICT by IANSGuwahati, March 6 (IANS) Suspected Karbi Peoples Liberation Tigers (KPLT) militants have released the two forest officials they abducted in central Assam’s Karbi Anglong distict Tuesday morning.
Chief Conservator of Forests Abhijit Rabha and Ranger Ranjan Baruah were kidnapped by KPLT Saturday while they were on their way from the Singhasan Hills area to Diphu.
The KPLT had denied its involvement in the abduction.
“The two were released in Bokoliaghat area. They immediately went to the forest guest house in Bokoliaghat and informed us,” a police officer said.
