Bokaro, Jan 16 (IANS) Unidentified attackers shot two traders in steel city Bokaro Saturday, killing one on the spot and critically injuring the other, police said.
Two motorbike-borne unidentified assailants shot Satyendra Singh and Bhola Singh near Chas roundabout of Bokaro city, around 140 km from Ranchi.

Satyendra Singh, an iron scrap trader, died on the spot and Bhola Singh was injured in the shooting. Bhola Singh has been admitted in a local Bokaro hospital. His condition is said to be critical, police said.

According to relatives, Satyendra Singh was getting extortion calls. He had informed the police and sought security. Six months ago, police had provided bodyguards to him but they were withdrawn three months later.

“We are investigating the case. The killing could be an outcome of business rivalry or denial of extortion to a criminal gang,” a police official told IANS.
