A matrimony site exclusively for armed forces personnel
September 2nd, 2010 - 7:18 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Sep 2 (IANS) Defence personnel seeking life partners will now be able to access a matrimony website designed exclusively for them.
The site defencematrimony.com, launched by internet firm Consim Info Pvt Ltd, is part of CommunityMatrimony.com. It will provide online matrimony service to all the three wings of the armed forces — the Army, Air Force and Navy personnel.
Speaking at the launch of the website, Air Vice Marshal V.K. Dayalu said: “This is a fantastic move. To be a defence personnel’s life partner, it requires great deal of sacrifice, understanding and mutual respect.”
The website not only contains profiles of defence officers and their children but also of lower rank personnel.
The site offers membership to the personnel at a discount of around 40 percent, costing around Rs.1,400 for membership. The service is free for war widows and physically challenged servicemen.
“It’s a matter of choice for the officers. One can opt for a partner within the community and civilians could also find a match for themselves,” J. Mahadevan, business head of Consim, told IANS.
The armed forces also have a matrimony service of their own and defencematrimony.com is a new addition to such match-making platforms.
