A BJP MP gives support to Hazare - in writing
August 24th, 2011 - 3:49 pm ICT by IANSAgra, Aug 24 (IANS) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Agra city has given his complete and unqualified support to the Jan Lokpal bill of Team Anna, that too in writing.
After sitting on a day-long fast Tuesday, Ram Shankar Katheria, on persistent demands from volunteers of India Against Corruption that has organised the movement led by Hazare gave a written statement pledging support to Anna Hazare and his bill.
Agra city observed a three-hour long bandh till the lunch hour Wednesday, expressing solidarity with the anti-corruption movement. Several rallies in different parts of the city were taken out and shopkeepers did not open their shops till lunch hour.
The Shahid Smarak in the busy Sanjay Place commercial complex continued to attract hordes of admirers, supporters and activists carrying the Indian flag and donning the Gandhi cap.
