9-year-old killed at Delhi wedding
December 16th, 2011 - 6:22 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Dec 16 (IANS) A 9-year-old boy was killed when he was hit by a bullet in his neck during a marriage ceremony in south Delhi, police said.
Shivam, a Class 5 student, was killed while he was watching the wedding procession at Jafarpur Kalan late Thursday.
“Few drunken men had started firing in the ceremony. Two of them went to the stage where the groom and bride were sitting and started firing. They fired around 35 rounds, one of those hit the boy,” Deputy Commissioner of Police A.K. Ojha told IANS.
“The victim was rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) where he was declared brought dead,” Ojha said.
Two people have been arrested and identified as relatives of the boy.
