86 test positive for dengue in Orissa
August 25th, 2011 - 10:23 pm ICT by IANSBhubaneswar, Aug 25 (IANS) At least 86 people tested positive for dengue in Orissa Thursday alone, taking the total number of people infected this month to 822, the state health department said.
A total of 124 and 64 blood samples were tested in Sriram Chandra Bhanj Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack and Veer Surendra Sai Medical College at Burla in Sambalpur district, respectively.
Out of them, 64 and 22 were found positive for dengue, the health department said in a statement here.
However, the death toll due to the virus has remained at 20 with no new casualty being reported since Wednesday.
Most of those tested positive Thursday belonged to the worst-hit Angul district, where the number of people infected by the virus this month has gone up to 373.
