816 Maoists surrender
September 6th, 2011 - 10:48 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Sep 6 (IANS) A total of 816 Maoists surrendered between 2008 and 2010, the Lok Sabha was informed Tuesday.
Minister of State for Home Affairs Jitendra Singh said in the Lok Sabha that the central government had approved revised guidelines for the surrender and rehabilitation of Maoists.
This includes an immediate grant of Rs.1.5 lakh, a stipend of Rs.2,000 for three years, vocational training and incentives for surrender of weapons, he said.
