Thrissur (Kerala), Sep 15 (IANS) A huge crowd thronged Thrissur town in Kerala Monday evening to witness around 800 Pulikali (Tiger dance) artists perform the centuries old folk dance which is held during the Onam season. “A total of 13 teams from the municipal corporation limits are taking part in the event. Each of the team has 61 members,” Babu Antony, the coordinator of the programme told IANS.

“For the first time, a woman also took part in the pulikali this year,” Antony said.

In view of the bomb blasts in New Delhi, police had made elaborate security arrangements for the programme.
