8 held for leaking question papers in Allahabad
September 21st, 2009 - 6:27 pm ICT by IANSAllahabad, Sep 21 (IANS) The assistant proctor of an engineering college was arrested along with seven others in this Uttar Pradesh city Monday for allegedly leaking question papers of an examination for teachers, police said.
Those arrested by the Special Operation Group (SOG) include Raghavendra, who is the assistant proctor of Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT), a clerk of the Allahabad University and six others for leaking the question papers of the License of Teaching (L.T.) grade Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT) examinations.
“The accused leaked the question papers after taking money from candidates. They were nabbed after their mobile phones were put on surveillance by the police,” Deputy Inspector General of Police (Allahabad) Chandra Prakash told IANS over phone.
The gang had leaked the question papers Sep 13 and Sep 20 a few hours before the examinations.
“The papers were leaked in two colleges - D.P. Girls College and K.P. College - and since then they were on the police radar,” Prakash added.
