The trekking journey of Ben Fleetwood, of Selside, near Kendal, Cumbria, began a few weeks before his third birthday when he arrived at the peak of Lingmoor.

Now, three months short of Ben’s seventh birthday, his dad John said that his son has climbed every peak, with total ascents in excess of 135,000ft.

Ben’s dad escorted him every step of the way and they finished at the peak of Tarn Crag.

“It’s amazing what Ben has accomplished. Obviously I’ve done them at the same time too, but I’m a little older so it’s not quite as impressive,” the Telegraph quoted, John, as saying.

Wainwright expired in the year 1991 after publishing seven guidebooks to the Lakes that sold nearly two million copies worldwide.

John Burland, a spokesman for the Wainwright Society, said: “Until it’s been ratified by the committee from the society, we’re not prepared to acknowledge the claim.” (ANI)
