6 killed, 34 injured in Kashmir road mishap (Lead)
December 1st, 2010 - 10:19 pm ICT by IANSJammu, Dec 1 (IANS) Six people were killed and 34 injured Wednesday when an overloaded mini-bus skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in the mountainous Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said. The driver and conductor of the mini-bus have been arrested.
According to the police, the mini-bus, with a capacity of 18 people, was carrying 40 passengers when it skidded off the road at Khadgala area of Kalkote. It was on its way from Kalakot to Tatapani in Rajouri district, some 120 km north of Jammu.
The injured were rushed to the Government Medical College in Jammu where the condition of some of them is said to be critical.
