$300mn UAE aid to Morocco to tackle rising energy prices

Casablanca (Morocco), May 25 (IANS) United Arab Emirates (UAE) will give Morocco $300 million in aid to help the northwest African kingdom tackle the impact of rising energy costs, WAM news agency reported Sunday. UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has granted the aid to help ease the impact of rising energy prices, Morocco’s ministry of foreign affairs and cooperation said in a statement Saturday.

UAE Energy Minister Mohammed bin Dhaen Al Hameli, who is currently in Morocco, said in a statement that he delivered a letter from Sheikh Khalifa to the King of Morocco that called for enhancing bilateral relations in all fields between the two countries.
