3 labourers killed in wall collapse
March 31st, 2011 - 10:07 pm ICT by IANSChandigarh, March 31 (IANS) Three labourers were killed in a wall collapse at an under-construction multiplex site here Thursday afternoon, police said.
According to police, the dead were from West Bengal. Their identities were not known and the bodies were kept in the mortuary of the government hospital here in Sector 16.
“Construction was on in the basement of a site here when this incident happened. Around 14 labourers were present on the spot. Three were killed while eight were injured. All the injured have been shifted to hospital and condition of one of them is serious,” said Brijendra Singh, deputy commissioner of Chandigarh, to reporters.
In the meantime, police have registered a case and started investigation.
