3 heists worth Rs.2.5 million in Tamil Nadu

Chennai, Aug 5 (IANS) Two jewellery showrooms and a house in Tamil Nadu were burgled Tuesday and cash and jewellery worth over Rs.2.5 million were looted, the police said. While thieves struck at a locked house in Red Hills, 20 km north of here, two jewellery showrooms in Vellore city were burgled, the police said.

“We have deployed a posse of over 200 police personnel to crack the cases,” S. Kannan, an official told IANS here late Tuesday evening.
