- Ghaziabad, Nov 5 (IANS) Three people have been arrested for abducting and murdering their 14-year-old relative, police said Thursday.
A fourteen-year-old boy was allegedly abducted from Murad Nagar and then drowned in the Ganga at Garhmukteswar area of Ghaziabad.
According to police, Harsh Tyagi, a Class 9 student, had gone to a market near his house in the evening Oct 29. He, however, did not return.
The next day, his father Umesh Tyagi lodged a missing complaint at Murad Nagar police station.
Acting on the complaint, the police interrogated some persons close to the family. In the course of interrogation, the police found that three people - all close relatives - had abducted Harsh and took him to Garhmukteswar, where they drowned him in the Ganga.
“We have arrested the three relatives under section 364 IPC and are searching for the boy’s body. For the last three days, our team is trying to search for the body but it has not been recovered, so far. Once the charges against them are proved, the three will be booked for murder,” Superintendent of Police P (Rural) K.K. Asthana said.
