New Delhi, Dec 20 (IANS) A Special CBI court hearing the 2G case Tuesday dismissed the application of Unitech’s Sanjay Chandra seeking permission to visit Singapore for treatment of his nine-year-old son suffering from diabetes.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Special Judge O.P. Saini said: “Your application is dismissed.”

Chandra in his application submitted that he be permitted to visit Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore for the treatment of his minor son, suffering from a kidney problem earlier and now diagnosed with diabetes.

He wanted to remain out of the country Dec 24-29.

Chandra’s counsel R.S. Cheema said: “The doctor at the hospital has given him an appointment for Dec 27.”

The probe agency earlier opposed the plea saying the investigation regarding the money trail in the 2G case was still on.

“The probe in the case is being conducted by two agencies, the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate. Investigation related to money trail in the 2G scam is still going on,” said special public prosecutor U.U. Lalit.
