29 killed in Madhya Pradesh bus accident
June 1st, 2009 - 9:12 pm ICT by IANSBhopal, June 1 (IANS) At least 29 people were killed and seven injured when a bus careened off a bridge and crashed into a dry river bed in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh, police said Monday.
Police have recovered the bodies of 29 passengers from the crash site on the Chambal river bed.
“Rescue and relief operations are still on,” Morena Superintendent of Police S.P. Santosh told IANS by phone. Morena is 350 km from here.
District administration has announced a compensation of Rs.50,000 each to the kin of those killed.
