25-year-old man shot dead in Vasant Vihar
May 9th, 2011 - 1:26 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, May 8 (IANS) A 25-year-old man was shot dead by unidentified assailants in the upscale Vasant Vihar area of the capital Sunday evening, police said.
The victim, who has not been identified, was walking on a pavement near the Baba Ganganath Maharaj temple in Vasant Vihar when four to five assailants came and forcibly dragged him to a nearby park where he was shot dead, police said. He died on the spot.
The attack took place between 7.30 and 8 p.m. Police said the assailants fired two shots.
A passerby informed the police, who took the victim to the AIIMS Trauma Centre, where he was pronounced dead.
