New Delhi, Oct 15 (IANS) A 21-year-old woman, an aspiring pilot, allegedly committed suicide in her west Delhi home, police said Wednesday.Rajni, who was training to be a pilot from a private institute in Dwarka, was found hanging in her room in the Uttam Nagar area Tuesday afternoon.
She was also enrolled in a B.A. correspondence course from Delhi University.
“Rajni’s parents told us that she had bolted the door from inside. Her sister tried to open the door but could not. She then called her parents, broke open the door and saw Rajni hanging from the ceiling,” a police officer said.
“They took down the body and informed us,” he added.
The victim’s father Shivraj Singh works with the defence ministry. He told the police that Rajni seemed alright just half an hour before the incident.
“She greeted us and like everyday had lunch with us. She then retired to her room and we got busy with our work,” police quoted Singh as saying.
