21 killed in three accidents in Madhya Pradesh
November 7th, 2010 - 3:58 pm ICT by IANSBhopal, Nov 7 (IANS) A total of 21 people were killed and 36 injured in three road accidents in Madhya Pradesh since midnight, police said Sunday.
The first accident took place around midnight at Sahagi Pahadi in Rewa district when a truck carrying 52 people turned turtle. Sixteen people, including five women and a child, were killed while 35 people were hurt, said Deputy Inspector General (Rewa range) K.P. Khare.
The victims were residents of Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh and were visiting Maher Devi temple in Madhya Pradesh.
In the second accident, three people died when their vehicle hit a tree in Chatterpur district Sunday morning, officials said.
In a separate incident, a bus ran over three women in Nayi Basti in Satna district. Two of them died on the spot while the third is undergoing treatment in a hospital.
