20-year-old girl commits suicide in Haryana town
November 26th, 2009 - 8:48 pm ICT by IANSKarnal (Haryana), Nov 26 (IANS) A 20-year-old girl studying in a polytechnic in Nilokheri town in this district committed suicide by swallowing poisonous tablets in her hostel room Thursday, police said.
According to the police, Neetu and Swati, both 20-years-old, had swallowed the poisonous tablets and were immediately shifted to hospital, where Neetu died while Swati is still battling for life.
Neetu is a native of Jhunjunu town in Rajasthan while Swati is a resident of Haryana’s Narnaul town.
“The girls had gone to Karnal yesterday (Wednesday) for shopping and returned to their hostel at night. The exact reason behind the suicides is not known as yet,” a police officer said.
Karnal is around 125 km from Haryana capital Chandigarh.
