New Delhi, Nov 20 (IANS) Two people were killed and two injured when a property dealer opened fire after an argument in a party in a Delhi farmhouse, the police said Thursday. The police received a call at around 12.30 Wednesday night about the incident that took place at a farmhouse in Rama Vihar area of Rohini’s Sector-22.
“A group of 20-25 property dealers organise a get-together every Wednesday at the residence or farmhouse of one from the group.
“This Wednesday the party was organised at the farmhouse of a 23-year-old property dealer Vijay Kumar in Rama Vihar area. There was liquor and food. Most in the group belong to outer Delhi area and Haryana,” said a police official.
A neighbour, Somnath Kapoor, who lives opposite to the farmhouse told the police that people started arriving around 10.30-11.00 p.m. Wednesday.
“He (Kapoor) was inside his house when he woke up on hearing loud bangs,” said the official.
“He told us that there were loud noises and then suddenly cars started rushing away after which the police arrived. When we reached the place, there was blood and chaos everywhere. In all six shots were fired and four persons had received injuries,” the police official added.
The injured were taken to Brahm Shakti Hospital where Vijay’s uncle Shiv Narain (41) and business partner Vinod (25) were declared dead.
“Vijay has suffered a bullet injury in the palm while his friend Rajesh has received an injury in his leg,” said the police official.
Though the police have not been able to establish the exact cause for the incident, it is on the look out for a property dealer, Sandeep, who is absconding.
“When the party reached its peak, an argument broke out between Sandeep and those who are dead. At that time someone said something to Sandeep which might have provoked him,” the police said.
“He took out his weapon and started firing indiscriminately due to which the four persons received (bullet) injuries,” the police added.
Sandeep was allegedly involved in two murders and currently is out on bail in both those murders.
“He is brother-in-law of Sonu Barwala, a property dealer and friend of Vijay. He is a resident of Sonepat in Haryana,” the police said.
