New Delhi, Jan 7 (IANS) A gang running a human trafficking racket was busted and five people, including two Bangladeshi and one Nepali nationals, were arrested here, police said Friday.The arrested Indian nationals are identified as Udit Narayan, 36, and Khalique Uddin, 41. The Bangladeshi nationals are Omar Faruk, 24, and 33-year-old Nasrin, Khalique Uddin’s wife. The lone Nepali member of the gang is Paban Khadka, 46.

“Narayan, Khalique Uddin and Faruk were arrested Thursday from the old quarters of the city. Uddin’s wife Nasrin was arrested a few hours later from the same location. She was staying in the country even after her visa had expired,” a police officer said.

The interrogation of the four led to the arrest of the fifth member Khadka from Ranjeet Nagar in west Delhi Friday.

“The gang trafficked Nepali, Bangladeshi and Sri Lankan nationals to Saudi Arabia, Australia, Afghanistan and Latin American countries. They used to obtain visas on forged Nepali and Indian passports,” a police official said.

They used to charge anywhere between Rs.2 lakh to Rs.3 lakh each from the customers.

The police have recovered 12 fake Nepali passports, one Indian passport, one Bangladeshi passport, four Australian visa stickers, one Afghanistan visa sticker and other incriminating documents from the arrested people.
