16 killed as truck overturns in Gujarat
June 14th, 2010 - 10:17 pm ICT by IANSGandhinagar, June 14 (IANS) Sixteen people were killed and 45 injured when a small truck they were travelling in turned turtle in Gujarat’s Panchmahal district Monday, police said.
The accident, in which seven women and nine men were killed, occurred near Malvasi village in the district.
According to police at the district headquarters in Dahod, the mini-truck carrying a marriage party overturned while negotiating a narrow road with a vehicle coming from the opposite side.
The injured have been rushed to the Dahod civil hospital.
