150 Tamil Nadu fishermen detained in Andhra: group
August 25th, 2008 - 5:18 pm ICT by IANSChennai, Aug 25 (IANS) An association of fishermen said Monday that 150 fishermen and 25 mechanised trawlers were being held by their counterparts in Andhra Pradesh who were demanding Rs.4 million to free them.A spokesman for the association based in Kasimedu demanded intervention by the police, saying Tamil Nadu’s fishermen were routinely detained in Andhra Pradesh. He said the 150 were held in Nellore district.
