15 killed in China factory fire

Shenzhen (China), Feb 27 (Xinhua) At least 15 people were killed and three injured after a fire broke out in a factory in Shenzhen in China’s southern Guangdong province Wednesday. According to officials, the incident occurred at about 4 a.m. in a factory building located in a special economic zone (SEZ) in Shannan district. The ground floor of the building was used as a workshop for foam products.

Firemen have rescued six people from the building. Three people who sustained injuries were receiving treatment in a hospital, an official said.

The cause of the fire was being investigated, he added.
