15 kg heroin found near India-Pakistan border
October 4th, 2011 - 5:22 pm ICT by IANSAmritsar, Oct 4 (IANS) The Border Security Force (BSF) Tuesday recovered around 15 kg of heroin from near the international border between India and Pakistan in this Punjab district, sources said here.
“The drugs haul was made close to the barbed wire border fencing,” a BSF official said. The heroin is valued at several crore rupees in the international market.
The consignment, which was hidden below the ground, was meant for delivery in Delhi and some parts of Punjab, the sources said.
BSF officials said the consignment could have been brought by smugglers based in Pakistan and India from Afghanistan via Pakistan.
