New Delhi, Jan 13 (IANS) At least 15 labourers were injured after the roof of an under-construction single-storey factory in north Delhi collapsed Thursday evening, police said. The incident occurred at around 4.45 p.m. in Sector 5 area in Bawana.

“Five fire brigade tenders arrived on the spot and cleared all the debris and pulled out the trapped people,” a fire official said.

“Around 35 labourers were working at the spot and around 15 of them came under the collapsed roof. More than half of the roof was constructed when it collapsed suddenly,” a police officer said.

The injured were rushed to a hospital and a few of them are undergoing treatment.

“We are investigating the matter,” the police officer said.

The incident comes barely two months after a five-storey house collapsed in east Delhi’s Lalita Park locality, killing at least 70 people, most of them daily wage workers and their families from Bihar and West Bengal.
