14 injured in Peshawar blast
May 25th, 2011 - 8:11 am ICT by IANSIslamabad, May 25 (IANS) At least 14 people were injured in a powerful blast Wednesday morning in Pakistan’s northwest city of Peshawar, Xinhua reported.
According to the report, the blast took place at about 4.40 a.m local time at a Centre of Investigation Department (CID) police station on the University road of the city.
The building came crumbling down following the explosion. Many people were buried under the debris.
Relief and rescue teams have rushed to the site and initiated their work. The injured were being shifted to Khyber Teaching Hospital till last information.
It is said the blast was heard across Peshawar city. Windowpanes of the nearby buildings were smashed in the blast, Geo TV reported.
No group has claimed the responsibility for the blast as yet.
