13 injured as bus falls off Delhi-Noida expressway (Lead)
December 23rd, 2010 - 11:32 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Dec 23 (IANS) Thirteen people travelling in a bus were injured when the vehicle fell off the Delhi-Noida-Delhi (DND) expressway Thursday evening, police said.According to police, the accident took place around 7.30 p.m. when the bus was going towards Noida. It suddenly skidded towards the left and fell off the carriageway into a ditch.
M.C. Mishra, chief of All India Institute of Medical Sciences trauma centre, told IANS: “Thirteen people, including two women, have been admitted here. One is critical and the rest are stable. The patients will be kept under observation till tomorrow (Friday) morning.”
“The bus was travelling at a very high speed and suddenly it hit the railing and rolled over once before falling into a ditch. The driver fled,” said a witness.
