1,200 kg of illegally stored fire crackers seized
October 28th, 2010 - 8:37 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Oct 28 (IANS) Over 1,200 kg of fire crackers stored illegally in a godown in Delhi were seized and a person has been arrested, police said.
“Raids were conducted on an illegal cracker godown in the area of Hirankudna village near Mundka late night Wednesday,” said a police official.
Anil Kumar, 39, who runs a soft-drink agency, has been arrested. He is said to have bought large quantities of crackers from Faridabad, abutting Delhi, and illegally stored it in the godown in Mundka.
Kumar was planning to sell the fire crackers in and around Delhi during Diwali.
