12-year-old booked for apprehension of breach of peace
March 26th, 2011 - 5:08 pm ICT by IANSLucknow, March 26 (IANS) The Uttar Pradesh police have booked a 12-year-old boy for apprehension of breach of peace in Shahjahanpur district, about 190 km from here, in what his father claimed is a framed-up case.
Sahdev, along with his father Bishen singh, was summoned before the sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) in Shahjahanpur Thursday in connection with the case which was registered in November 2010.
The age of the minor, a Class VI student, came to the notice of the court only after his father raised the issue.
Sub-divisional Magistrate D.P. Singh has ordered the deputy superintendent of police to probe into the affair.
According to Singh, a farmer, the case was registered against him and his son because he supported a candidate in the local body election.
“The rival candidate had clout with the local police and he got both me and my son booked. Since the offence was non-cognizable, we were spared from arrest, but now, four months later, we have received a notice from the SDM,” he said.
