12 injured as tree falls on moving train
July 12th, 2011 - 10:14 pm ICT by IANSLucknow, July 12 (IANS) At least 12 passengers were injured, five of them critically, when a tree fell on a moving train near Uttar Pradesh’s Farrukhabad district Tuesday, police said.
The accident took place when the tree collapsed on the engine of the Farrukhabad-Kasganj Express and came in contact with passengers near the windows and doors of the train.
Government Railway Police inspector Raghuraj Singh told IANS on telephone from Farrukhabad, some 150 km from Lucknow: “Five passengers got serious injuries.”
The train was headed to Kasganj in Kanshiram Nagar from Kanpur.
