12 Chinese cops punished over murder
June 9th, 2012 - 5:33 pm ICT by IANSBeijing, June 9 (IANS) Twelve police officers in China have been punished for dereliction of duty after 11 people were murdered, authorities said Saturday.
The officers were posted in Yunnan province, Xinhua reported.
Zhang Yongming, 56, from Nanmen village of Jinning county, had allegedly killed 11 people since 2008 while they were walking home alone.
Zhang used various means, including dismemberment, burning and burial, to destroy evidence. He was arrested in May.
