11 killed in Maoist attack in Orissa
April 13th, 2009 - 9:35 am ICT by IANSBhubaneswar, April 13 (IANS) At least seven security personnel and four Maoist rebels were killed in a gun battle in Orissa’s Koraput district, police said Monday.
The incident took place Sunday night when over a hundred armed rebels laid seize to the state-run National Aluminium Company Ltd (Nalco) bauxite mine at Panchpatmali, some 370 km from here.
They also attacked a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) camp nearby.
“Seven CISF jawans and four Maoists were killed,” district police chief Deepak Kumar told IANS.
