Jammu, Aug 14 (IANS) At least 11 people were killed and nine others injured when the truck they were travelling in skidded off the road in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir Thursday, police said. The truck was on its way to Jammu from Srinagar when it skidded off the road at Anokhi falls on the outskirts of Ramban, about 160 km north of Jammu, around noon. The people travelling in the truck have not yet been identified, police said.

The injured have been admitted to Ramban district hospital.

Many people have been travelling in trucks in the absence of regular bus service between Jammu and Srinagar due to violence over the cancellation of land allotment to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB).
